What To Expect

A real commitment, a real reward

18+ & Reliable

You must be at least 18 with reliable transportation, ready to work outdoors rain or shine.

One Year, One Day

A minimum one-year commitment of about four hours on one scheduled day each week.

Earn Your Way

Volunteers gain hands-on experience with most of our animals. Advancing to otter care is earned and never guaranteed.

Career Building

Build your resume with real animal-care experience. Successful volunteers get first look at paid roles with Animal Educators and Nurtured by Nature.

Complete a volunteer application with your contact details, three references, your prior animal-care experience, and why you want to join. We review every application and reach out to qualified applicants. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Applicants sign a waiver acknowledging that we do not provide medical or workers' compensation coverage, so volunteers carry their own medical insurance.
